Most weather apps are about where you are. This one is about where your people are. A household pins the places that matter now, and FarPost puts the weather, the hazards and the news for each of them on one page in one order.
An app that asks one weather service, gets a timeout, and shows an empty risks section has just told somebody there are no warnings. It has no idea whether there are warnings. Those two states look identical and mean opposite things, so this app cannot produce one without the other.
Every section carries the legs it walked. A section whose sources all failed says not checked, rather than showing an empty space that reads as an all-clear.
The same goes for age. A forecast fetched successfully, at 200, carrying an issuance from twenty hours ago is a failed check wearing a success. Freshness is judged per kind against the source’s own timestamp, and a source that publishes no timestamp is treated as stale rather than as current.
The API and the rules above are built and the app runs locally. Mind Tether is not deployed yet and cannot register a relying party, so sign-in takes the local path until it can.
